UPDATED 9\/19\/19: I deleted the countries of Egypt, South Korea, and Russia and left the United States so that you can use the countries you want. I found a statistic for arable land (albeit in hectares, so it needs converting) and changed out agricultural land that was previously in km. I also added a teacher’s aid with brief notes from Census.gov and solutions for the U.S.<\/div>\n

These coloring book map-pages cover three prominent types of density discussed in AP Human Geography.<\/a> I would use this when discussing the three types of distribution (arithmetic, physiologic, and agricultural).\u00a0There are three pages, each with a different density type. Each page has space for lecture notes and calculating the different types of density. There are dynamic QR codes linked to World Bank data sets and to my online human Geography Illustrated Text. Each density category is labeled with a letter that corresponds to its type (which they can also color-code). You can print these large and have classes work in groups or print for individuals.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Goal: Remember that a goal is to have students understand how spatial data can help us solve real-world problems. When they are able to calculate densities themselves, they are able to see better spatial patterns, no matter the variable. The variable could be feral cats for all we care, but they understand how to calculate density.<\/div>\n

Step 1) Lecture on how to calculate these density types. Space is given for your lecture notes on the left.<\/span><\/div>\n

    This coloring book series is inspired by the Wynn Kapit Geography Coloring Book, that hasn’t been updated since 2003. It’s provided many hours of geography inspiration for myself and I hope to spread the same.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
