Epidemiological transition

Epidemiological transition is the changing patterns of disease (and causes of death) seen in human history. Those of us interested in public health and global health need to understand that this process isn’t over. The epidemiology of non-communicable disease and infectious disease is still changing. In this video, we look at some of the challenges faced by developing countries in terms of the double burden of disease and the difficulties associated with managing non-communicable disease. We also look at the future and the likely return of high rates of infectious disease globally. This video was sponsored by the University of Edinburgh.
